The purpose of the University of Tennessee Organic and Sustainable Crop Production Program is to involve more Tennessee farmers in organic production in order to increase farm income and to provide an alternative to keep the family farm in the family.
The University of Tennessee Vegetable Extension program focuses on providing innovations in production practices, aiding in cultivar selection, developing alternative crops, maximizing crop nutrition and flavor, and reducing the use of off-farm inputs, such as chemical fertilizers and pesticides, for Tennessee growers through research and education throughout the state.
The Tennessee State University Otis L. Floyd Nursery Research Center is located about 80 miles southeast of Nashville in McMinnville, Tennessee. Our mission is to provide leadership in strengthening and expansion of our nursery industry through innovative research and extension programs in entomology, genetics, horticulture, pathology, chemical ecology, sustainability, nursery extension and related sciences.
