4-H offers many fun overnight camping opportunities for youth who have completed 4th – 12th grades in the summer. 4-H strives to provide youth with a positive camping experience and to teach youth valuable life skills while they are away from home at camp. Camps vary in length, focus, location, and fees. Please read below for information about the different camps. 2024 Camp information will be updated as details are available.

This classic outdoor adventure camp is waiting for your student this summer! From swimming, shooting sports, creek stomping, nature hikes, woodworking, music and more, this awesome camp is the perfect way to spend part of their summer.
WHO CAN ATTEND: Any 4-H members in 4th – 6th grades
WHEN: June 2 – June 6, 2025
WHERE: W.P. Ridley 4-H Center, Columbia, TN
COST: Will be announced soon!
TRANSPORTATION: A bus will be provided for transportation to Junior Camp. More details coming soon!
REGISTRATION: Camp registration will open soon!
LEADERS: One adult is required for each 16 campers. If your parent would like to attend camp for free as a volunteer leader, please call the 4-H office ASAP for more information. If we are short on leaders, some 4-H members may be disappointed that they cannot attend camp.
Closed for 2024 – Join Interest Lists
These camps have already filled up for the year. Sometimes, students drop out or more spots are released to us. If that is the case, we will review our interest lists and move students up on a first come, first serve basis. If your student is interested in one of these camps, we HIGHLY recommend they sign up for the interest list!
Learn from shooting sports experts at this exciting camp focused on firearms safety, responsibility, life skills and fostering a love for the outdoors. Students will learn how to safely handle and shoot rifles, bows, shotguns, and muzzleloaders, as well as exploring other hunting and outdoor skills.
WHO CAN ATTEND: 4-H members in 5th – 9th grades
WHEN: May 27 – 31, 2024
WHERE: Clyde York 4-H Center, Crossville, TN
COST: $360, which includes lodging, meals, supplies, a t-shirt, and ammunition. Campers may want to bring $20 – $30 in spending money for optional crafts and snacks.
TRANSPORTATION: Transportation is not provided to this camp. Please coordinate your student’s transportation on your own. Campers should arrive on May 27 between 4:30 – 5:00PM CT and be picked up on May 31 at 9:00AM CT.

Get ready for an epic adventure at the Jr High Adventure Camp! Your days will be jam-packed with fishing, nature hikes, canoeing, and fun Olympics-themed challenges. Students can enjoy active and engaging programming, focusing on individual development and group dynamics through special interest groups and team events.
WHO CAN ATTEND: Any 4-H members in 6th – 8th grades
WHEN: May 27 – 31, 2024
WHERE: Clyde York 4-H Center, Crossville, TN
COST: $375, which includes four nights and five days of lodging and meals, recreational activities, a t-shirt, and nametag. Campers should bring $30 – $40 in cash to buy craft items or refreshments from the canteen.
TRANSPORTATION: Transportation to and from Clyde York 4-H Center is not provided. Please coordinate transportation for your camper. Campers should arrive Monday at 10:00AM and be picked up on Friday at 10:00AM.

The ultimate Junior High experience – Academic Conference is more than a camp. Students receive extensive, hands-on training in project areas under the supervision of university scientists and specialists. This conference provides a variety of rewarding and fun-filled experiences in the classroom laboratory, and outdoors. Learn more about Academic Conference.
WHO CAN ATTEND: Students in 6th – 8th grades must send an application to be selected for Academic Conference.
WHEN: June 11 – 14, 2024
WHERE: UT Campus, Knoxville, TN
COST: $100, which includes lodging, meals, transportation, and activities. Students will also need to carry money for two fast food meals to and from Knoxville, snacks, and optional activities.
TRANSPORTATION: A bus will be provided for this camp. Campers will need to meet the bus in a central location (typically in Franklin, Nashville, or Murfreesboro).
REGISTRATION: Campers must apply and be selected to attend this prestigious conference. Please submit an application and section A form for each project the student is applying by March 20, 2024 to Doug Berny at dberny@utk.edu. If your student is applying for Citizenship, a Section C form should be submitted instead of Section A. Applicants will be notified in early/mid-May whether they’ve been selected to attend.

Get back to nature with this primitive camping experience, where students will learn wilderness skills like shelter building, campfire cooking, axe throwing, creek stomping, fishing and more! This experience is much more rustic than other 4-H camps – cabins are basic wooden shelters with no a/c with a separate bathhouse.

WHEN: July 2 – 5, 2024
WHERE: Camp Woodlee, McMinnville, TN 37110
COST: $185, which includes lodging, meals, recreational activities, and a t-shirt.

WHERE: UT Campus in Knoxville, TN
COST: $325, which includes lodging, meals, admission to the main event, and other activities.
TRANSPORTATION: A bus is provided from the Middle TN area to Knoxville. Campers will need to meet the bus (usually in Franklin, Murfreesboro, or Nashville).
