
4-H offers many fun overnight camping opportunities for youth who have completed 4th-12th grades in the summer. 4-H strives to provide youth with a positive camping experience and to teach youth valuable life skills while they are away from home at camp. Camps vary in length, focus, location, and fees. Please read below for information about the different camps. 2023 Camp information will be updated as details are available.
This camp for students who completed 9th-12th grade gives youth the opportunity to explore career fields. FCS Behind the Scenes July 11-13, 2023 traveling to Atlanta, GA and will focus on Interior and Fashion Design in 2023. We will visit Atlanta Home and Fashion Market, the Atlanta campus of SCAD, learn from hands-on activities and guest speakers in the fashion and interior design industry, including a fashion influencer. The focus rotates annually between Fashion, Interior Design, and Culinary. The camp travels around the south east, often times going to other states. Campers will meet a van in a central location in middle TN to travel to Atlanta, GA for 2023.

This high school event rotate locations between the University of Tennessee at Martin and Knoxville. Youth must have completed 9th-12th grades and be a TN 4-H All Star member or TN 4-H Senior High State Portfolio Finalist to attend Roundup. Roundup will be July 17-21, 2023 at UT Knoxville. 4-H Pioneer Camp is for students who completed 7th-9th grade and are seeking an outdoor rustic camping experience! The camp is July 4-7, 2023. This Central Region 4-H camp will offer 4 days of fishing, hiking, kayaking, shelter building, shooting sports, survival skills, team challenges, campfire cooking, outdoor fun, and adventure. The camping experience is much more rustic than other 4-H camps- the cabins are basic wooden shelters with no a/c, you walk to the bathhouse and most activities will be outside. This is held at Camp Woodlee in Warren County, TN.
Who can attend? 4-H members who have completed 7th– 9th grade.
Cost: Pioneer camp is $175 which includes meals, lodging, t-shirt, and recreation activities. Transportation to and from Warren County is NOT provided, the family of the camper will need to coordinate transportation. 4-H STEM Electric Camp is a fun-filled adventure in electricity at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Electric Camp will be June 26-29, 2023. At camp, you will work with electrical specialists from across the state in learning centers. Each learning center will consist of hands-on activities so that you can learn by doing. You will also have the chance to meet other 4-H’ers from across Tennessee and explore careers in energy, electricity and basic sciences. Please check back for 2023 camping information.
The learning activities this year include: wiring and making your own lamp, wind energy generation, robots, electric vehicles, and more.
Who can attend? Students who complete 6th-8th grade Summer 2023. 4-H members who attended Electric Camp in previous years are eligible to return.

Junior 4-H Camp is offered to students who have completed the 4th-6th grades. This camp is 5 days and 4 nights at the 4-H Camp in Columbia, TN. Williamson County 4-H will camp June 5-9, 2023.
Who can attend? 4-H members who have completed 4th– 6th grade.
Cost: The cost of camp for 2023 is $325.00 which includes meals, lodging, t-shirt, nametag, recreation activities and transportation. The $325 fee can be paid online: https://tiny.utk.edu/4HCampPayment or by check or cash in the office. The camper should plan to bring $30-$40 to buy craft items or refreshments from the canteen.
Transportation: All campers should assemble at the Ag Expo Park at 4215 Long Lane on Monday, June 5th at 9:00 a.m. We will ride buses to the camp in Columbia, TN. The buses will return youth to the Ag Expo Park on Friday, June 9th between 10:45 -11:30 a.m.

Leaders: One adult is required for each 16 campers. If your parent would like to attend camp free as a volunteer leader, please call the 4-H office as soon as possible for more information. If we are short on leaders, some 4-H members may be disappointed that they cannot attend camp.

Culinary Camp this fun hands-on learning camp is held in July at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, TN. It is open to students who have completed 6th-8th grades. Culinary Camp will be July 11-13, 2023 at TTU. Transportation is not provided to/from Cookeville. Campers stay in dorms at TTU for the two nights of camp.
This is a fun hands-on camp for middle school students to explore careers and the vast world of culinary arts! The cost of camp is $150 which includes lodging for 2 nights in a dorm, activities, camp shirt, and meals at camp. Transportation is not provided to this camp.

4-H Target Smart Camp is a 4-H Shooting Sports 5 day, 4 night overnight camp May 29-June 2, 2023. It is for youth who have completed grades 5-9 as of the date of the camp. At camp youth learn appropriate skills to succeed in a variety of shooting sports and related areas such as archery, riflery, shotgun use, muzzle loading, and outdoor skills. Programs emphasize safety, correct form, and responsible use. Youth will not bring their own firearms or bows and they do not need prior experience with shooting sports. Transportation is not provided to this camp.
Who can attend? Students who complete 5th-9th grade Summer 2023.
Cost: $360 which covers your lodging, meals, supplies, t-shirt, and ammunition. Campers may want to bring $20-30 spending money for optional camp crafts and snacks. Must be paid by check by April 27th to UT Extension Williamson County.
Transportation: Is not provided, campers will need to provide transportation to/from the York 4-H Center in Crossville, TN (East TN). Students should arrive between 4:30-5:00 central on 5/29/23 and should be picked up at 9:00 am on 6/2/23.

Junior High Academic Conference is an educational program on the campus of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. This conference is for youth who completed 6th-8th grades. Academic Conference will be June 13-16, 2023. Youth stay in Dorms at the University and participants receive intensive training in their 4-H project areas under the supervision of university scientists and specialists and explore related career opportunities. The conference provides a variety of rewarding and fun-filled experiences in classroom, outdoors, and laboratory settings.

The conference is $100 but students do not pay until they are selected to attend. Applicants will be notified in early/mid-May that they have been selected to attend or not. On the trip students will also need money for 2 fast food meals on the bus ride to/from and spending money for snacks or optional activities. All other meals, lodging and activities are covered by donors. Transportations is provided, you will need to meet this bus in a central location (usually in either Franklin, Murfreesboro or Nashville).
- This overnight high school camp will be held July 5-7, 2023, at Clyde York 4-H Center in Crossville. The camp is open to students who have completed 9th-12th graders.
- This camp is not for beginners in the Performing Arts or Creative Arts & Design project. We will not be teaching basic skills – youth attending should have a basic understanding of the skills they will need in their track
- The four tracks for the camp include theatre performance, musical performance (instrumental and vocal), dance, and fine arts. Each applicant will be able to choose their top two tracks to increase the chance of selection. Youth may only choose one track if they are not well-versed in more than one area.
- The cost per person is $235. This includes lodging, meals, materials and supplies, as well as a souvenir
- If a 4-H member is selected to attend in the musical performance – instrumental category, they will need to bring their own instrument
- The fine arts track will include creating image transfer techniques, exploring mark-making and texture-creating tools and techniques, designing nature-inspired collage canvases, developing composition skills using digital photography, and experimenting with color theory and paint mediums
- Transportation: WILL NOT be provided to or from camp. The family of the student attending will be responsible for transporting them to and from Crossville.
- If you are interested in going to Performing and Fine Arts camp, you must apply by March 31st. Applicants will be notified around April 10th if they have been accepted. After being accepted you will pay your registration fee. This camp will include an application; just because a 4-H member applies to attend does not mean they will be chosen.
- The application process includes a Google Form and applicants should be prepared to upload a video or pictures of their talent
- Applications will be reviewed, and 12-15 youth will be selected for each track
- On the last day of the camp, July 7th, parents will be invited to attend a Showcase. Parents should not arrive prior to 1:30 p.m. and the Showcase will begin at 1:45 p.m. Immediately following the Showcase, youth will be released to leave.
