4-H Nutrition, Health, and Fitness

This group is a fantastic way to learn how to eat, play, and live in a healthy way. During the class we will make and taste many exciting foods, gain an overall knowledge of eating in a healthy way, and much more.

Description In this 4-class series, we will discuss what it means to lead a healthy lifestyle, inside and out! We will learn effective strategies to care for mental, relational, community, and physical health. With an engaging combination of small-group discussion, hands-on activities (everything from art to snack-making to yoga), and practical skill-building, we will discover how to build a healthier you!

  • Meeting Time Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 pm
  • Dates November 3rd, 10th, 17th, and December 1st

Q:  How do I join 4-H?
A:  Complete our online registration form for each student in 4th-12th grade to join 4-H. If a project group you are registering for has a registration fee, the fee must be paid to complete the registration.  

Q:  How much does it cost to join? 
A:  4-H is free to join in general. Many of our project groups do have registration fees to cover the course material and supplies, each group will indicate on the information page and registration form what the fee is, if any. 

Q:  If registration is closed for a group I want to join, what can I do? 
A:  Please still complete the registration form and click to “join the interest list” for any group you have interest in. You will be contacted about any pop-up classes or other opportunities related to that group that open.  

Q:  What is the Food & Nutrition group?
A:  This is a fun, hands-on group that meets weekly during the fall focused learning about nutrition, making healthy foods, and doing activities together.

Q:  Are there any prerequisites?
A:  No. This group is open to 4th-12th grade students.

Q:  Do I have to provide my own supplies?
A:  No, when we meet in person the 4-H office will provide most if not all the supplies for class. When we meet over Zoom students may be asked to provide some items, usually common household products.

Q:  How long is the NHF Class?
A:  The class meets weekly in the fall. We may add other classes during the school year as we have interest and volunteers to lead.

Q:  What is the format of the class?
A:  The volunteer led group plans a hands on activity each week with a related lesson.

Q:  What is the cost of the group?
A:   $20 per student
