Description – The BBC Micro:bit is a pocket-sized computer that introduces you to how software and hardware work together. Micro:bit is an open source hardware ARM-based embedded system designed by the BBC for use in computer education.

  • Meeting Time: Saturdays at 9:00 am until 10:30am

Take what you learned about Micro:vit and apply it in this class to design new projects. Students will build a guitar, speaker, simple door alarm and a step counter. Must have some Micro:bit experience or participated in Micro:bit 101.

Elvia Klym

Elvia Klym is passionate about facilitating STEM project-based learning to cultivate students to be creative problem solvers. Elvia grew-up in Nashville and has her bachelor’s degree in engineering from The University of Tennessee. She has worked as an engineer in several areas including manufacturing, pre-production operations, vehicle testing, corporate training, and lean engineering consulting. She is currently a 9-12 engineering and unmanned aerial systems teacher at a local high school.
